I am Nicola O’Driscoll, owner of Healing on the Heath in County Mayo
I am a holistic practitioner and teacher. I love using complementary therapies to help people on their healing journey by promoting self-care, exploring the root cause of dis-ease and illness and supporting them on their journey to a happier and healthier life.
As the mother of 3 daughters, one of which having special needs and an intellectual disability, I know how busy life can get and the struggle to find time and space for our own self-care. But I also know how important self-care is especially as a parent.
My journey began in 2015 when I trained as a beauty therapist. I was drawn to relaxing therapies such as massage. Releasing tension that was being held in the body was making a noticeable difference to people’s lives. But I felt I wanted to do more. It was at this time that I discovered Reiki and it changed my life. It opened up my path to self-healing. I realised very quickly how important this healing journey is, as not only does it benefit me, it also benefits my daughters, my siblings, my parents, my grandparents and my future grandchildren. In fact it helps all my ancestral line going backwards and forwards. This is powerful work.
Over the course of the last eight years I have trained in many many modalities including Reiki, Rahanni, Reflexology, Shamanism and Akashic Record Reading. I am also a Cacao Ceremony Facilitator. These modalities have provided me with tools to manoeuvre through all the ups and downs of life. I have worked through childhood trauma, healing past issues and traumas, grief, releasing limiting beliefs and fears, clearing ancestral trauma, clearing negative patterns carried forward from previous lives and this has enabled me to open up to all the wonderful opportunities this life has to offer. Doing this work for myself has provided me with the tools to hold a safe and sacred space to help others help themselves.
