Holding my Breath

holding my breath
out of expectation and fear
words left unspoken
shallow breathing
for fear of taking up space
of being misunderstood
of being seen..
inhalations now begin to gain depth
no longer afraid to let out an audible sigh
this is my quiet rebellion
not exclaiming my presence
by shouting from the rooftops
but simply by allowing my vessel to expand
inhale, exhale
I am here, visible, expanding
this breath of mine
connecting my inner and outer worlds
bringing my soul’s work to life.

A Poem by Rachael Ball

Rachel’s poem about learning to take up space.

Rachael is a Seer, Healer and Intuitive Writer who weaves the art of noticing into her work through Cacao, Water Ritual, the Gene Keys, Tarot/Oracle Card Readings and written word.

Her passion for poetry was ignited by her late uncle, John, with whom she shared her first ever poems. His support both while on this Earth and now from the heavenly realms are her constant source of inspiration, and she truly believes that whenever she channels a poem, it is a gentle nudge from him to keep creating.
