A Moment in Time

A Moment in Time

Time seemed to pause as I held your hand,
No need to rush, to push, or demand.
The world fell silent, the night drew near,
But in that hush, your soul was clear.

We spoke in whispers, soft and low,
Like tides that meet, then gently go.
No promises made, for tides can’t stay,
Just hearts laid bare, embracing this day.

Your truth and pain laid bare by the firelight,
Warming the dark corners of the night.
And though we knew the dawn would part,
The quiet closeness of our hearts.

We stayed a while, beneath the stars,
Two kindred spirits healing scars.
No need to name what we had found,
Just sacred stillness, safe and sound.

It wasn’t love in binding form,
But something just as soft and warm.
A fleeting truth, both rare and kind,
Two souls that met, treasures to find.

I saw in you what words can’t say,
A light that time can’t steal away.
Not mine to keep, but still I knew,
The universe had led me to you.

And when you left, the day endured,
A gentle hush that still ensures:
Some moments come to simply bless,
Then leave us full with nothing less.
