Saoro a proud green supporter of the International Tiger Project
Saoro is proud to be a Green Supporter of the International Tiger Project donating €4 from the sale of every Sumatra Ceremonial Cacao Bar to support conservation and protection projects to save the Critically Endangered Sumatran tiger and its habitat.
Formed in 1998, it’s mission is: to ensure the survival of all tiger species in their natural habitat and promote the welfare of all tigers.
Projects funded
The projects funded by the International Tiger Project not only include direct tiger conservation – such as rescue and release programs – but also forest habitat protection and regeneration, education, research and local community partnerships.
By addressing the holistic problems facing remaining fragmented tiger populations, the project is fighting deforestation and habitat loss at the highest level.
How our support helps
The Sumatran tiger is critically endangered, with as little as 300 left in the wild. By adopting a tiger, supporting our habitat protection program, or giving a regular donation, you can make a meaningful and direct contribution to their survival.
Supporting the project’s highly trained units to patrol this habitat day and night, guarding against deforestation, encroachment and insidious poaching.
Helping helping them to uncover and remove deadly poaching snares, which trap and kill not just Critically Endangered Sumatran tigers, but the animal prey they desperately need to survive.
Support for the project will also help to educate and engage the local community about the laws against poaching wildlife, and the dangers of consuming wild animal parts.
