Here at Saoro we’re strong believers in the role that creativity plays in living a spiritual life. We also know that reading & writing poetry has so much to teach us….
During the month of February we’ll be celebrating all things poetry-we’ll publish original poems, catch up with the poets about how they got started, why they write, how poetry can helps the healing journey, how to get started writing, poets & poems that inspire and more. We’ll also share some of our own favourite poems & poets here at Saoro.

“I have a really strong connection to cacao. I always have a nice cup before I start creating. I know it helps me open my mind and boost my creativity. Sometimes I do yoga or meditate with cacao and the layout, or the colour scheme of the pyramid just pops into my head, then I gotta make it happen. I often get personalised orders. I love doing them because I always think of the person and how I see them when I create the pyramid. It’s easy to put me into a creative space.
I see a new crystal, a small figurine, an exciting colour or even just a handful of dry moss and some pine-cones and I am at my desk making another one. Now I am very lucky as we live in a beautiful spacious house where I have my own little corner to sit in peace and create anything I like. When I started, we lived in an apartment and my desk was my working from home set up daytime and after work I cleared everything, and all the creative stuff came in. I also worked full time and had many other side businesses so the creative time some days were between 11pm – 12am to just pour a layer and hope it all worked out at the end.”

Earth’s Whisper
I heard the earth speak this morning,
As I gently poured water on her bosom at day’s dawning.
Her whispers carried on the breeze,
Echoes of ancient wisdom, flowing through the trees.
Pachamama, mother of all,
Her heartbeat resonates, a primal call.
In each drop of rain and every grain of sand,
Her spirit dances, vibrant and grand.
With reverence, I touch her soil,
Feeling her presence, a sacred coil.
For we are intertwined, her and I,
Underneath the vast and infinite sky.
As I listen to her soft, rhythmic song,
I know that to her, I forever belong.
In harmony with nature’s gentle flow,
Pachamama’s love, a boundless glow.

Hope
Screaming into silence,
And yet still unheard.
The anguish reverberating back
Through patterns of time
As of yet to be broken.
Wrongs not made right
Tears not dried,
Mothers cries echoing through generations
My jaw clenched with frustration,
As my heart feels the fear,
And my eyes become blind in the dark.
Distracted by the stories
And the sifting of the truth
Like straining sand in a desert.
I listen to the birds
In the hope that I can interpret their wisdom.
I kneel in the clay
For the touch of her earth.
I open my arms to greet the comfort of the wind.
I go inside to the fires that burn,
For a place of justice and right.
Repeating patterns
Since the dawn of time
Of anger, attachment and ignorance-
Running concurrently with patterns of love, and hope, and wisdom.
Coinciding in harmony in a place of chaos and order.
Our heart is our hope.
Our hope is our hope.
The perpetrator of the suffering suffers the most as,
They do not know the light.
Our hope is our light.
Our hope is in our hearts.
Our hearts are our hope.
Hope.
