Would you like to connect to your creativity but you are not sure where to start? Would you like to start to write but you are feeling resistance? Or have you been writing for a while but would love some structure, guidance & community to support you over a couple of weeks as you develop your craft?
We are delighted to announce that the very talented Adele Leahy will lead a 5-week online course on writing poetry.
About the Course:
Adele will guide you in exploring poetry and examining how it affects our feelings. Is writing poetry a cathartic exercise for you? Who inspires you?
As we each have a unique lens from our different life experiences you can either share within the group some of our work following short writing breaks or keep our work private. Poetry can be intensely personal and a safe space is necessary for everyone. A short meditation will precede and end each workshop.
Adele shall look at the myriad of forms that poems take and examine some of the works of the greatest poets.
During the 5 weeks, you will learn to discuss and create poetry by examining the work of great poets. Adele will cover writers as diverse as Maya Angelou, Seamus Heaney, W.H. Auden, William Ernest Henley & Rumi.
Classes are on Zoom, and notes will be emailed to all participants following each week’s workshop.
