“Patriarchy” – Megan Collins

“Patriarchy”

“I think activism takes many forms, but what comes to mind when somebody says activism is I think of people standing up and protecting the voiceless or the earth, i suppose stewardship. It comes in different forms, there could be sacred rage behind it, but there is a bit of unity behind it because people are empathising and coming from the heart. I think its heart-based action, but it is action-based activism its not passive. I think it can take many forms, it can be educating people about taboo subjects, such as plant medicine, it can be planting a garden, teaching people about herbs, it can be a lot of things, but I suppose in the context of art, maybe i do it accidentally or in a roundabout way but I hope it brings light to issues that people don’t like to look at or things that people cant voice themselves, and gives voice to the voiceless. I know i’ve had multiple and various types of people connect with my work. Using your voice, i guess! Thats activism. We do need warriors in this world…but you can do it from a clean energy perspective.”
