Tick Tock – Joan Hardiman

Many wanton selfish people

pilaging our earth.

Some need their ego scratched,

To feed their bloated worth.

Never deny

your hedonistic pride.

Childlike discretion,

everything means more,

destroying our Core.

Looking ever inward,

outward unaware,

unconscious of the ticking clock,

let the rare ones care.

No respect for preservation,

heirs wont have their day.

Nothing will be sacrificed,

no posterity,

just today.

So it is and so it was,

greed begets corruption.

Humans can’t see past

their backward evolution.
